A short series of inspirations from what I’m up to. Got a book from Goodwill store. Hope to use it as a flow of ideas and inspiration to either work into a literary exploration and a game ideas engine. So with those two goals in mind I begin. Also got a course pack mailer for greatest courses in the world. Writing is one of the courses. I bet if I rewrote some stuff past first draft status I would end up with something people would like to read, even pay to read.
What are novels and games after all than to pay someone to read or play something? Amazing that anyone would pay to read a book or play a game at all. But they do. And billions are made at it. My goal is to have money drop from it at some point. The real money aspect gives me some extra inspiration that the outer world values my work. Exchange of ideas with others is also satisfying in social and community ways.
So the book is: Beast Master Team by Andre Norton and Lyn McConchie. 2002.
Historical frame. First full swing of MMO emergence. 2000-2002. Don’t know how fast the book was written but good bean is that a year before publication for context. Right around 9/11 was part of the flow of this book so that may pop into the text I’m expecting but will see. In the gaming world of 2000-02 Everquest was ascending, WoW was thought of, and Entropia had just started. A Golden Age of MMO’s? Was Beast Master the television series still going? Yes it was. Ended in 2002. A have fuzzy memories of it. May get ahold of video for further inspiration if needed and if I have the energy.
